Tuesday's Inspiration: Kate Moss

I personally love that Kate Moss channels the looks from iconic women like Marianne Faithfull, Anita Pallenberg, Jane Birkin or Brigitte Bardot. It makes it easier for us to relate to past decades I think.

In any case I love her green little dress and those Longchamp bags.

Lisa Blue & Whales Call Too..

Well when I received the invitation for this launch I immediately wondered "how will they pull-off a launch at the Andrew Boy Charlton pool?" I had visions of Femme fatale models swimming laps while we Fashionista types sipped our Champagne (or was that Australian sparkling white wine I forgot to check) and puffed away on long impossibly thin cigarettes while shielding ourselves from the blinding-white harbour-light; as we stood, watching, on the old concrete bleachers that were (yes were) such an Iconic part of the Old-Boy Charlton pool.

Yes you are right, I had forgotten its all been renovated! And years ago at that; so no such fate awaited us or the quiver of models who where there to strut their stuff for the Lisa Blue swim label 2012 collection! Two thousand and twelve! And I was just getting used to 2011. This was the launch but if you were not there, fear not; come Rosemount Fashion Week you can can get a look too, but till then here is my (special custom blurry) look at a mere six of the many suits we saw on the day.

[As you may notice I managed to find myself a nice picture taking pozzie where I was able to get the old Garden Island crane in some shots too! I so love that crane; note to self, organise a fashion shoot at Garden Island Navy base, maybe something with a military theme... Keep idea to self!]

Lisa Blue - Call of the Whale is more than just a name, 25% of profits are going to saving Whales and Dolphins so you get your swimmers and you get to help the ocean's biggest people you love at the same time. Not sure if anyone has done something as bold as that before but there you go. I like the idea!

Thanks to Faith & everyone at RAW Fashion Agency, you guys rock!

Everything can change

I sort of wish this was a regular Sunday for me but alas it isn't. I have been sick at home for nearly a week now and the fact that the whole apartment is clustered with boxes doesn't make it more bearable. Tomorrow we'll be moving to our new apartment and I have some serious catching up to do with Uni work. Meanwhile you might have to wait a little longer for self shot photos, outfits posts and such but I will schedule some new posts to tide over. I'll do my very best to return soon!

Thursday's Beauty Post: Trésor by Lancôme

The beauty posts won’t be only about fragrances but I have been given the opportunity to try and review an iconic fragrance by Lancôme, Trésor, so today’s post is all about it.

Obviously I was familiar with the beautiful advertising spots featuring Penélope Cruz or Kate Winslet but I had never tried it before until a couple of weeks ago. To be honest, when I first sprayed it on my wrists I didn’t like the top notes at all, it was an explosion of rose, iris and something else metallic smelling which was simply too strong (and dare I say, even headache inducing) for me. But still, even in the beginning there was something very fine and elegant to this composition, which became better and better in time. The drydown was creamy with hints of apricot and vanilla that linger a long time and that is when this scent becomes loveable to me. It smells so feminine and romantic and is even there the next day! I really wanted to love this one, and probably would have, if the opening had been more appealing to me. Every now and then I spray it on, try to ignore it for the first half hour and then enjoy the beautiful smell that it develops.

Maybe I’ll appreciate this sophisticated scent more some day, and until then I will treasure this beautiful flacon dearly...

Wednesday's Interior Decoration Inspiration: shabby chic china cupboard

A while ago my sister and I picked up a cupboard off the street that some neighbour through out. On the first glance you could see why, it was an ugly brown wood cupboard with wooden knobs but we saw that it had potential and dragged it up to our apartment. Maybe you have already noticed that we have some pretty vintage china my sister recently started to collect (shown here, here and here). Inspired by shabby chic interior decoration style we set out to make this cupboard pretty again, meaning we painted it in glossy white, replaced the old knobs and as a finishing touch covered the insides with vintage looking Paris themed paper.

On a side note, our move is less than a week away!!!

Help me choose

I've been looking for large green earrings to wear with a black formal dress at a dear friend's wedding and finally narrowed down my options. I'm still unsure though... What do you think of these, which one would you go for? Or do you have some other recommendations for me?

Hongdae

Hongdae is actually a clubbing district in Seoul but there are lots of tiny shops and street stands. Hongdae offers such a unique vibe - there are hardly people over thirty and the area is full of young musicians running around with their guitars. I became so fond of this place..and yes, it is a hello kitty coffee shop ^^

Some updates

Me with bang hair. I'm really satisfied with the new look although it's a little change. Sorry for the blurry photo quality..

I'm back from Seoul and I brought some new stuff: bag, cardigan, muffler, jewelry, lipsticks

I slept 12 hours straight last night, since I'm pretty jet-lagged ^^
Wish you all a lovely weekend!

Wednesday's Interior Decoration Inspiration: Frames

I plan on going frame shopping this evening so I thought I'd share what I have in mind for my place. Since I want most of the rooms to be very bright I think adding darker framed pictures add a nice contrast. Also I want to replace all the gold hues in my current apartment with some cool silver shades!

The Blogs & Coffee print above is from MadebyGirl and probably every blogger out there (or every avid blog reader) totally get the idea. I want a smaller print for my desk but I'm afraid it will keep me from working on my master thesis and make me get another cup of coffee and browse bloglovin'! ^^

Last day

Despite the cold windy weather cycling in Amsterdam was such a pleasure! Great way to spend the last few hours there. The experience was complete with meeting a local artist at a little café we stopped by to warm up. We were very lucky as it only started to rain just as we were about to board the plane... Perfect timing to head home!

Before sunset

After having so much fun it’s not so easy to get back to work, so I wanted to share some pictures with you, mainly of what I wore in Amsterdam. Thanks for your suggestions, I managed to go and see some of the places you mentioned and really loved the city!

Our hotel was located in the red light district which we found perfect since most of the places we went were in walking distance. But of course we also rented a bike to get a more authentic feeling of being in Amsterdam but more on that adventure in the next post…
