Thanks to Rosemary for the invite & everyone who made it such a great night.

Here are some random snaps from last week.

My newest additions to my jewelry collection, all thrifted. The turquoise pendant really reminds me of this YSL ring.

This soft peach cardigan from Zara and the H&M organic cotton scarf are my favorite articles of clothing right now.

I haven't been in the blogging mood lately but I will try to take outfit pictures more often, I promise!

Enjoy this beautiful day everyone! I'm going to get me some coffee...

Istanbul Fashion Days: Day 4

As I mentioned before, yesterday was the closing night of the Istanbul Fashion Days and I think overall the project was a success. The only thing that bothered me was the organization of the entries to the shows. If you weren't from the press or a VIP, you had to watch the show outside from a screen even though you had an invite. But let's move on to Hakan Yıldırım's spring/summer 2010 collection themed by Milad...

In this collection, female silhouette was emphasized by strong, tough and sharp-edged architectural shapes meanwhile feminity was emphasized by lace, silk, organza, leather and crystallized Swarovski elements.

New feather and collar shapes were expertly used together with grenadine red, soft pink, ecru and grey tones. There were also a series of phenomenal white dresses towards the end of the show and even though I like edgy designs more, these feminen lace dresses with feathers also pleased me.

Many must have thought the same because at the end of the show the designer got a standing ovation, something I haven't experienced the days before. Maybe it was also because it was the finale, I don't know...

The outfit picture was not very clear so I took another picture of my rather new bondage shoes. The straps hurt like hell but I'm still in love with them... ^^

Istanbul Fashion Days: Day 3

Before attending the last show tonight I wanted to share with you the one from yesterday evening: Bahar Korçan's Kabullen veya değistir, which can be translated as Accept it or change it. True to the catchphrase the show started with other-worldly designs.

The models, who were barefoot on the runway, also showed the new jewelry collection. With the white dresses, wing accessories and the delicate walk they looked like angels.

You can click on the pictures to enlarge them.

Front row crowd: The sir with the glasses had a very lovely Chanel necklace I wouldn't mind calling my own. ^^

But at least I was backstage...

I will attend the finale show tonight, which will be a bittersweet ending. Bitter because I could get used to this, sweet because I'm running out of outfits to wear. ^^

Istanbul Fashion Days: Day 2

I am definitely enjoying the advantages of being from the press. Front row seats, anyone? ^^

Yesterday I attended the Hakan Yildirim for Koton show together with Moda Cadisi and her friend D. It was very exciting to see everything up-close and we all liked various designs of the capsule collection. I was especially fond of the shorts and trousers combined with blouses. Unfortunately I only took pictures with the disposable camera that was in the goodie bag but I'm sure there'll be some nice pictures on Moda Cadisi.

Istanbul Fashion Days: Day 1

Having no access to the internet at home means delays in blogging, but here are some pictures from Wednesday. It was a great start to this project and I had lots of fun with fellow blogger Moda Cadisi and her friend D. You can see more pictures on her blog if you like.

Off guard

"I wanna be the girl he gives his hoodie to wear and cuddles up next to when it's cold. He'll be the one who comes up behind me, wraps his arms around my waist, catches me off guard and whispers, you look beautiful."

We can be heroes

Yesterday I attended the Mango a/w 2009 show at the Four Seasons hotel at the Bosphorus. It was a rather last minute decision, so I didn't really have time to change and wore the silk skirt from a previous post with a vintage blouse I was wearing at work that day.

To be honest, the show didn't really surprise or impress me but it was still fun to be there and see well-known Turkish models on the runway.

an uneasy Nesli with Eda Taşpınar
(I can't really say who she is or what she does except that she's in the papers on a daily basis.)

These pictures are a proof of how ghostly white I am or (and which is more likely, believe me) of how crazy the locals are about tanning! In fact Eda joked that we look like a Benetton ad and i couldn't agree more... ^^
